The former OGC Nice man was negotiating over a new deal at the club but was unwilling to accept what Les Gones had on offer. The Brazilian wanted more, something that the club’s current financial situation does not allow.
Amidst an uncertain financial and sporting future, the 25-year-old has now chosen to leave the club when the campaign ends.
Lyon paid Nice a lot of money for the services of the midfielder and it is a little unfair on the Rhone giants to see the player walk away for free.
Clearly, Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas, is not happy to see how things have turned out. The Lyon supremo claims that he made every effort to extend Ederson’s contract. The Frenchman is finding it hard to digest how disloyal the player has proven to be.

for Lazio. I don’t think it’s fair,” said an emotional Aulas.
