http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 President, Jean-Michel Aulas has said that he is willing to let go of one player in the January transfer window but is still doubtful about the club’s chances of signing a new player despite Remi Garde’s insistence
Constrained by a budget transfer that is very limited, Olympique Lyonnais are keen on offloading at least one player this January before even considering bringing in a new player at the Stade de Gerland.
A few days back, Les Gones coach, Remi Garde had asked the club to spend some money on new players. The French tactician has done admirably well with financial constraints as Lyon are still in with a shot for their 8th Ligue 1 crown.
However, Garde knows that he would be needing a few extra players in his squad as Lyon await a second half of the campaign where fatigue would play a crucial role. Lyon are currently playing in four different competitions which means that chances of losing
players to the treatment table are higher than before.
However, Jean-Michel Aulas might not sanction arrivals of new players. Furthermore, the club will not be looking to buy any player this January as long as a current player is not sold.
While talking to L’Equipe, Aulas said that the club no longer has the means to finance big-money moves which means that they have to respect the rules set a few months ago. Aulas introduced an austerity plan at the club which has made things hard for Remi
Garde.
“It’s not that we no longer have the means, but it is necessary to respect the rules we had set, and not widen the gap (financial),” Aulas said while giving an interview to L’Equipe.
Les Gones left-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aly-Cissokho-c5313 has been linked with a move away from the club and the Frenchman’s sale would certainly give Lyon some hope of signing a new player.
Garde has been keen on signing a central defender and a defensive midfielder this winter. UAE international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamdan-Al-Kamali-c15615 and Nancy Lorraine midfielder Samba Diakite have been linked with a move to the Rhone club with the latter already expressing his
love for Les Gones.
