The Olympique Lyonnais president is one of the people working for European Club Association and feels that the new UEFA Financial Fair Play ruling can only be good for the game
Jean-Michel Aulas is not only the president of Ligue 1 giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130. He also the chairs the finance committee of the ECA (European Club Association). That makes him a prime source of information regarding the UEFA Financial Fair Play ruling
that has been introduced by the European football governing body this season.
And, the ruling delights Aulas who has always emphasised on a sound financial management of a club.
While talking to journalists, the Lyon supremo said that he is very optimistic about the chances of the new rule succeeding as it validates the principle of financial fair play.
“I’m optimistic. UEFA has such a will to succeed. All clubs have validated the principle of financial fair play. A number of accounting standards have already been accepted and clubs must play the game. All these measures are an opportunity to avoid finding
themselves in a downward spiral that could devastate everything.”
And, Aulas is hopeful that clubs will continue giving respect to the new rules despite laws being different for every country. The strongman of Lyon claims that the team is not focusing only on clubs on a high payroll or the ones that get the lion’s share
of TV rights. And, Aulas has said that the same financial model will be applied for PSG later on as the Parisian club has been given a little time.
“We should not focus on clubs that have a high payroll and have high TV rights, like in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.”
And, it appears that ECA has not been able to completely file the data belonging to Paris Saint-Germain. However, deputy CEO of the cash-laden club, Jean-Claude Blanc has said that the club has submitted everything regarding its finances and is confident
in PSG’s ability to generate revenues and added that the club will respect UEFA’s new ruling.
Scheduled to go into full effect in 2013, financial fair play will hopeful reshuffle the cards in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and in Europe and Aulas it seems, is very keen on it.
