The Olympique Lyonnais president has clarified his stance regarding the capital club by saying that the Parisians are doing a world of good to Ligue 1 but had some scathing remarks for the AS Saint-Etienne’s Supervisory Board chairman
So far, the president of Ligue 1 giants, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130, Jean-Michel Aulas has been rather discreet in the media. Furthermore, he has not really given a lot of interviews to the media.
However, in recent times, the Frenchman has rediscovered his verve in front of the microphones. Today, when questioned by Le Parisien and Le Progress, Aulas first clarified his stance regarding the heavy investments made by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Investment Authority on
Paris Saint-Germain.
Aulas feels that through their investment, Qataris have saved French football especially clubs like AS Saint-Etienne (Lyon’s rivals).
“Through their investment, the Qataris have saved French football. Not necessarily Lyon or Marseille, clubs structured with strong shareholders. But they saved clubs like Saint-Etienne, which would have been in trouble without them.”
Aulas says that the arrival of Qataris in Ligue 1 is a boon for the league and not recognising it would be very stupid. However, the president of the Supervisory Board of AS Saint-Etienne, Bernard Caiazzo was not impressed by the Lyon supremo’s statements
by saying that he had criticised him personally.
And, Aulas had a lot of things to say about Caiazzo as well. The Lyon president says that Caiazzo is himself responsible for being excluded from the bigger positions at Les Verts and there are many reasons why he is no more the president of the club.
“There are question marks and this is perhaps why he is no longer operational, but the president of a Supervisory Board which does not carry a lot of weight to Saint-Etienne.”
Aulas then went on to say that when Caiazzo was the president of Lyon’s rivals, his power was detrimental to the club. Aulas said that AS Saint-Etienne are an important club in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and he has always had a great relationship with Roland Romeyer and Dominique
Rocheteau.
“ASSE is an important club and I have a good relationship with Roland Romeyer and Dominique Rocheteau. I know his coach and I appreciate him.”
