The president of Olympique Lyonnais was in a talkative mood with journalists during a press conference and revealed his plans for the Ligue 1 outfit
Dating a few weeks back, president of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130, Jean-Michel Aulas had a long interview with reporters regarding the transfer activity at the club. In that press conference, the Lyon supremo revealed that there is still room for a few players to
leave the club during the winter transfer window as Les Gones seek to further slash down their wage bill.
However, the club’s performances on the pitch have calmed Aulas down a bit. Third in the Ligue 1 standings and through to the next stage of the UEFA Europa League, things are indeed looking good for Les Gones under the tutelage of Remi Garde.
While talking on the columns of Football http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cris-c9486.
Aulas spoke about his lashing out at a few of the players at OL by admitting that he did that on purpose because as a president, there are times when one needs to set a line. A lot of players who were supposed to leave Stade de Gerland, were still at the
club which was another reason why Aulas had to have a go at a few things.
“Yes, it was on purpose. It is the president who sets the line. We worked all summer on what I should not allow to intervene. This is because players who had to leave were still there, I decided in full agreement with Remi Garde to intervene.”
“In July, I did not express myself to hurt players, or supporters or Bernard Lacombe or anyone. I really responded for the defence of the institution. I thought that it would be easier for Remi Garde to nurture talent by having the system cleaned up a bit.”
However, cleansing might not be a complete if one takes a look at Yoann Gourcuff’s recent performances, taking him out could not happen at all according to Aulas who is happy with the player’s performance.
