Jean Pascal reckons Lucian Bute needs to fight boxers of his calibre – Boxing news
The former WBC, IBO and Ring Magazine light heavyweight champion of the world Jean Pascal reckons the current IBF Super Middleweight champion Lucian Bute has always stepped in the ring with boxers below his level.
Mister KO, Lucian Bute, recently refused to fight Pascal for the fourth time in a row and therefore Pascal believes Bute does not want to take any risks.
The 28-year-old pugilist, Pascal, who has won 26 of his 29 fights including 16 by the way of a knockout, told the media he called out Bute after he lost his battle against Bernard Hopkins but the answer was again no.
“After my fight against Bernard Hopkins we offered Lucian Bute to fight me next this fall, and he said no,” Pascal said in a radio show.
Pascal added he was very disappointed with the refusal, as he thinks a boxer should be brave enough to take on challenges.
He remarked if a boxer does not take on chances eventually he finds himself among a lot of controversies.
“So you know we offered him to fight me for the fourth time, and he said no. So I was really disappointed by him. Lucian Bute needs to get more balls, to risk himself a little bit, to try to roll the dice because one day it’s going to catch him,” said Pascal.
Pascal admitted that the Canada-based unbeaten Romanian boxer Bute, who has won all of his 28 fights including 23 by the way of a knockout, is a very good fighter. However, he added that he has always fought boxers below his calibre.
“Lucian Bute is a great fighter but he’s always fighting boxers below his level, and he needs to step up his game and fight boxers of his caliber,” added Pascal.
Jean Pascal is desperate for a potential bout with Lucian Bute. However let’s see if he really gets a chance to step in the ring against the undefeated prospect.
