Jeanette Ottesen Gray wins Women’s 100m butterfly title: 2011 Danish Short Course Nationals
Jeanette Ottesen Gray outperformed her rivals in the penultimate evening session of the 2011 Danish Short Course Nationals in Thisted, Denmark, on Sunday, November 27. Ottesen captured the Women’s 100m butterfly title, while Jakob Andkjær took home the Men’s
100m butterfly crown.
Ottesen Gray thrashed out her challengers by producing versatile turns in the pool in a nerve wrecking time of 58.22 seconds to win the Women’s 100m butterfly title. More importantly, Gray beat her previous best meet record of 57.30 seconds, set back at
the 2011 FINA World Cup Series, in Berlin.
In the meantime, Christina Munkholm earned silver title in the respective race by claiming the finishing blockade in a winning time of 1 minute and 01.01 seconds and Mathilde Pugholm Hvid settled at third spot in a mark of 1 minute and 02.26 seconds. In
addition, Julie Schmidt earned fourth spot in a mark of 1 minute and 02.60 seconds and Lise-Lotte Larsen Bentin settled at fifth place in a blot of 1 minute and 02.61 seconds, respectively.
The Men’s 100m butterfly title of the meet was taken over by Jakob Andkjær in a scintillating mark of 52.92 seconds. Meanwhile, Nikolaj Kirketerp-Moller grabbed silver medal in the respective splash by hitting the finishing barrier in a time of 53.20 seconds
and the bronze title went to Soren Dahl in a blot of 53.33 seconds.
Daniel Steen Andersen continued to impressive the arena due to his versatile turns in the pool and banged the finishing divider in a matchless time of 53.85 seconds to claim fourth place honours in the respective race. Viktor B. Bromer earned fifth place
by banging the finishing barricade in a time of 54.28 seconds, while sixth place was clinched by Jonas Sorensen in a time of 55.49 seconds.
Additionally, Lasse Schroder Jakobsen earned seventh place honours in the respective splash by striking the finishing fence in a time of 55.69 seconds. Last, but not the least, the eighth place went to Martin Terp Olesen in a time of 56.63 seconds.  Finally,
Jeanette Ottesen Gray and Jakob Andkjær were given compliments in the shape of gold titles after the session’s completion.
