Jeddah: Public libraries?

Question

i'm a local jeddawi, in my late 20s and have never been to or even seen a public library in the city (thank god my parents have a self-made huge library in the house) but what's the problem? why isn't the government doing something about this? and why are jeddahs business men & women not tackling this? aren't libraries & 'knowledge for all' that important in our culture?

If the Saudi authorities want, I can offer my services to help build and set up a very good public library for jeddah.
