  1. This depends on the trailer you are planning to tow. In general, you want the hitch to meet the tongue of the trailer straight on. If the tongue angles up to meet the hitch ball, then it shifts the weight to the back of the trailer and takes weight off of the back axle of the tow vehicle. This makes towing difficult and is VERY dangerous.

    If the trailer tongue angles down to the hitch ball, this put excessive weight on the tow vehicle's back axle. The makes the rear suspension do more work and is hard on the wheel bearings.

    In most cases you will need some drop, but, again that depends on the trailer.

  2. All Jeep Liberty trailer hitches are powder coated for lasting durability.

        * Stylish "Round Tube" Design

        * "No Drill" custom fit design uses existing frame holes

        * Class III rated

        * Limited lifetime warranty

        * Powder Coated

        * 2" square receiver hitch opening

        * Includes mounting bolts & hardware

  3. The hitch will bolt to your frame.  No drop needed there.  You will need to choose the right hitch receiver for your hitch.  Normally a hitch receiver with a two to three inch drop will suffice.  Normally, the people that sell the hitch and receiver are the experts.  In any case, you won't be out much money if you buy the wrong receiver and ball.  In short:

    No Drop Needed at all.

    Your hitch receiver will do the drop ( The receiver slides in to your hitch )

    Good luck and Have Fun Out There!
