  1. In short, yes- they are seriously fault prone, the Grand Cherokee models eat auto gearboxes with alarming regularity, and are awfully heavy on fuel; expect an average of 22mpg.

    Useful info here;

    There are far better vehicles around.

  2. i have a friend with a 3.1 D that has almost 800,000 on it and it still purrs like a kitten, since the rpm's dont run as high as a gas motor does they have a longer life span. as for the mpg's thats all on you and how heavy your foot is.

  3. it depends on how old the car is. for example if it is only a year old then definately!! but if it is like 10 - 12 years old not really.

  4. 94k on a diesel?  No thats not a lot, particularly if it has been maintained.  Claims have been made of 43 mpg.  Check out the site in the source section.

  5. I think its not much, but if your car is old or if it is going to need a lot of work, don't invest in it.

  6. Depends how old it is.  Average mileage is 12,000 per year.

  7. Mine is a 95 with 108,000 and it runs great,but I have also maintained it carefully. At 94,000 it should go another 50K easily if you take care of it. On the upside, I love driving my Jeep. On the downside, it guzzles gas (15 average, 20 if only hwy) and maintaining the thing is spendy. I only use it for road trips. If you need something to commute go witha non-hybrid, high mileage car.
