Jeev Milkha Singh in good form after Nordea Masters, remains India’s pride!
Jeev Milkha Singh is the upcoming Indian star in the world of golf. His latest venture in the Nordea Masters saw him growing as a golfer and rising up in the rankings with his precision play.
Singh turned professional in 1993 and made a decent start in his early play-offs.
He has a total of 19 professional wins to his name, which include 3 European Tour victories, 4 Japan Golf Tour wins and an impressive 6 Asian Tour victories.
He remains the only Indian golfer in the world who has the membership of the prestigious European Tour. He still remains the highest ranked Indian golfer in the world.
His dedication to golf and his country has been recognised by the Indian government and Singh received the highest honour of Padma Shri in 2007.
He has also achieved the Asian Tour Order of Merit twice in the years 2006 and 2008, for his brilliant performance on the Asian Tour.
The Nordea Masters saw the consistent Lee Westwood outclassing every other player with his stroke play and winning the European Tour title with amazing fashion.
Westwood had consistency up his sleeve, which took him to the top of the Nordea Masters.
Singh, on the other hand, lacked consistency and experience. However, he played well and his 7th place tie is his first top-ten finish in the entire year.
The main focus in the Nordea Masters remained the top-spot battle between Westwood and his fellow British golfer Ross Fisher. This was intense and entertaining, as both of the golfers gave their best at the European Tour event.
In the finale, Westwood came up as the Nordea Masters crowned champion and made clear that Europe remains his land of domination. The 39-year-old has been extremely consistent with his form and remains the World number 3.
As far as Singh goes, it is a good start, as his form at the Nordea Masters gave a good impression of the Indian golfer. Consistency still remains the factor that makes a golfer stand out from the rest.
If Singh remains consistent, he may cultivate as the finest Indian golfer in the world.
