Jeev Milkha Singh in temporary lead during the second round of Irish Open – Live leaderboard
The second round of Irish Open is in progress at the par-71 Killarney Golf & Fishing Club. The European Tour event, carrying a purse of €1,500,000, is presented by Discover Ireland. Here is a quick look at the leaderboard.
Jeev Milkha Singh is leading the second round of the tournament with a score of nine-under-par. The Indian teed-off from the front and carded two birdies against an equal number of bogeys, which left him at par. He tried to pick pace on the back, but could
not relish much success. Picking up two more birdies, he wrapped the day with a 70.
Simon Wakefield and Raphael Jacquelin compiled a score of seven-under-par after 36 holes to occupy the second spot on the leaderboard. Wakefield, who hails from England, produced a flawless scorecard with the help of six birdies and is so far the lowest
scorer of the day. On the other hand, Jacquelin reeled four birdies against one bogey and wrapped the day with a 68.
David Horsey claimed the seventh spot on the leaderboard after five holes. The veteran has picked two birdies and still has 13 holes to play.
Ross Fisher, the defending champion of the event, has teed off and completed six holes with the help of two birdies and two bogeys.
His compatriot, Rory McIlroy is on his way to the end of his front nine. The US Open winner has not picked a single point as a result of the late double bogey he caught on the par-4, 18th. The player is one-under-par.
Meanwhile, Graeme McDowell has completed the opening five holes on the front with the help of two birdies. He is on his way to wrap the front. The Northern Irishman could not save par in the first round, following the stamina meltdown due to strong icy winds
of Ireland.
Darren Clarke has completed his second round with a score of one-over-par. The Irishman and the winner of the Open Championship carded six bogeys in the second round against three birdies. He is projected to miss the cut into the weekend.
