Jeff Francoeur moves to the Free Agents’ Market after clearing Waivers
Major League Baseball can be a strange place for a ball player to feature in, there are ups and downs in the American League and it is important to note that with the 2010 league ending on an exciting turn, there is much action
left to be played, off field. The teams in both the American and the National League are looking for lucky strides in the campaign and with serious considerations in playing the best ball game, there have to be adjustments made in the rosters. The free agents’
market is abuzz and if one lives near a baseball agents’ office, there will be phones ringing off the hook.
Now there are more than 160 free agents on the list and with Cliff Lee, Derek Jeter, Jayson Werth, Carl Crawford and Aubrey Huff heading the list, there is nothing one can say about the future events that may prevail as the year
comes to an end and the spring training session returns. The top teams are looking for a way to plug their weak spots and build on their strategy to refresh the side. Some rosters need an injection of pure talent and some need more experience. The objective,
however, is the same - sign in the right players.
The Texas Rangers were up to the mark in 2010 and it was a good plan to bring in the right amount of energy required to push through the New York Yankees in attaining the club’s first ever American League title brace. For many
fans, it was a dream, come true. Manager Ron Washington had led the ball club to glory and it was the players who unified for the right take on the initiative. Josh Hamilton stroked in good runs and Cliff Lee pitched perfectly in the games leading up to the
World Series.
However, with the chase to glory coming to a close, the side has now begun to feel the effects of likely distortion in the roster. Cliff Lee will most likely make his way to the New York Yankees. Vladimir Guerrero might not continue
and there are players who are going out with declines to waivers.
Jeff Francoeur is the new Rangers’ man to head out of the club. For a man who came to the club at the end of August, the move is considered awkward. The player came in from the New York Mets who acquired Joaquin Arias. Jeff did
well for the side by playing 15 games and producing 2 homers and 11 RBIs (Runs Batted In). The veteran bullpen member will be looking for a new home soon as he is left for the free agents’ market as well.
