Jeff Gordon wins Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway – NASCAR news
Jeff Gordon ended his win-less streak after winning the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday evening.

Gordon ran into victory lane after 66 winless runs dating back to April 2009 at Texas. He left Kyle Busch as runner up behind by one minute and 0.137 seconds behind.
“We beat Kyle Busch! Are you kidding me? Pinch me, man! Pinch me!” he said after the race finished.
This is Jeff Gordon’s 83rd victory of his career and second at the flat 1-mile track of the Phoenix International Raceway. Gordon is now tied with Cale Yarborough at fifth place in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory list.
“God, it feels so amazing,” the four-time Cup champion said. “I can't tell you how amazing this feels. So thankful to [owner] Rick Hendrick, all that he does. It's been a long time, I know. I'm going to savor this one so much, but I've got to say thanks
to the fans.”
Gordon took the lead pass 304 laps, from Kyle Busch, preventing him to bag the 88th win of his career. Kyle Busch won the Camping World Truck Series held on Friday at the Phoenix International Raceway. In the Nationwide Series,
he never stood down to lead and stole the show. Busch was planning to sweep the weekend with triple victory, but Gordon was on a different idea.
Gordon said about of his former Hendrick teammate that he is a tough challenger to beat.

“I respect his talent, that team, and he's aggressive. I think everybody knows, you don't want to have to restart up against him. He's just won a lot of stuff lately. And to be quite honest with you, to me, there's nothing cooler,” he said.
Kyle Busch said that Gordon definitely seemed to be on a mission for Sunday’s race. Especially when Gordon has a great car and when he has an opportunity, determined to beat, he will do it without any question. Busch firmly said that Gordon is his
hero and his victory is no surprise for him.
Jeff Gordon was speculated to win at least four races in the 2010 season, but could not due to a variety of reasons. However, with the right opportunity he did not spare anything to win the second race of Sprint Cup 2011 at PIR.
Gordon was extremely excited to win and beat Kyle Busch, praising the moment at which he had the right car, plenty of time and he proved to do it the right way.
