Jeff Green’s agent positive about his future as he heads into free agency – NBA News
Jeff Green is coming off the most difficult year of his life.
He was the guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder last pre-season but went to the Boston Celtics for the 2011-2012 season. However, before he could even settle with his new team and the new role he had been given, the forward suffered
from a serious heart condition that put his career in jeopardy and put him in a life threatening situation.
He was sidelined from playing basketball and the Celtics withdrew their $9 million offer. It was a very difficult time for Green with his future uncertain. However, the forward has bounced back well from his health issues and is
all set to test free agency this July.
His agent, David Falk will be busy all summer trying to land the best possible contract. Falk is a veteran to the agent business and was once an agent for Michael Jordan. He is now busy in finding the forward a franchise, which
can fully utilize his credentials and talent;
Sports Illustrated recently covered a story on Green:
“Because Green became an unrestricted free agent in December after Boston withdrew its $9 million qualifying offer, teams are already calling Falk’s office to discuss his possible exodus from Beantown. Free agency negotiations
won’t officially begin until July 1, but Falk said he has already had exploratory discussions with “12 to 14 teams.”
“With the possible exception of (Brooklyn point guard) Deron Williams, I think that Jeff will probably be the No. 1 unrestricted free agent on the market. It’s not like we have LeBron (James) and (Dwyane) Wade and all these guys
floating around,” said Falk while talking to SI.com
Green is a versatile player who can shoot the ball well and has good range. His rebounding abilities need improvement but if he is able to find a team where he is a good fit, he can still do wonders on the court and prove to be
a real asset heading into next season.
Coming back from a heart condition to play professional basketball must have been a difficult journey but Green is ready and charged to return.
