Jeff Greenwald knocks down Malcolm Harrison 7-5, 6-3
American challenger, Jeff Greenwald, defeated his compatriot, Malcolm Harrison, in the initial qualifying round of the First Republic Bank Tiburon Challenger 2012 held at the hard courts of California, United States. Greenwald
thumped down his straight sets 7-5, 6-3 in almost one hour and 15 minutes.
The 45-year-old, Greenwald, seemed completely out of focus in the initial part of the opener and this gave his rival a chance to clinch the initial two games and stamp his 2-love lead. However, gradually the momentum started to
oscillate. Greenwald displayed his greater experience and broke Harrison’s serve in the eighth game, levelling the score line to 4-all. Eventually, the American senior nudged forward to grab the last two games and stamped his 7-5 lead.
In the second set, the 24-year-old, Harrison, absolutely lost his hope and Greenwald swiftly glided forward to draw the first blood. He cashed his challengers serve in the fourth game and successively bagged away all the points,
terminating the set with his outstanding win of 6-3.

The 22-year-old American junior miserably failed in the end because he was unable to hold his initial serve, displaying a weak game plan. Daescu took hold of the opportunity and successively pocketed all the games without facing

situation for his opponent. Daescu broke Tu’s momentum by initially levelling the scores and then broke his serve. He nudged forward to secure the last two games, drawing a 7-5 win.
The right-hander American participant double faulted six times at the critical moments in the match and had a lower initial serve of 55 percent. He converted 20 of 31 first and eight of 25 second delivery points. The Romanian senior
