Jeff Hornacek as Utah Jazz’s Assistant Coach for the rest of the season
Jeff Hornacek will lead Utah Jazz as an assistant coach for the remaining 2010-11 Season.
He will be joining the Utah’s lead assistant coach, Scott Layden, and, head coach, Tyrone Corbin.
Jeff Hornacek turned into the full time assistant coach for the Utah Jazz in 2007 NBA playoffs when he worked for their roost as a shooting coach.
It is an individual achievement for Jeff Hornacek as he spoke earlier, “I am thankful that Ty has offered me the opportunity to serve as an assistant coach for the rest of the year”, said Hornacek.
Utah’s head coach, Tyrone Corbin, commented on Jeff Hornacek appointment, “I am excited to have Jeff on board and to have him expand his role and become more involved with the team. He has a great history with basketball, especially with the Jazz, and I
think the players are excited about him being around more.  I think he will bring a lot of positive energy and knowledge to the team”.
Tyrone Corbin turned out to be the new head coach for Utah Jazz after the retirement of Hall of Famer, Jerry Sloan.
Jerry Sloan’s massive career is regarded as full of inspiration. In over two decades of his coaching period, he taught his players that nothing is more important than the team. Jerry Sloan established himself as one of the finest and most esteemed coaches
in the history of NBA.
Back in 1987-88, 1988-89 and in 1993-94 NBA season, Jeff and Corbin were teammates as they first played for the Phoenix Suns and in 1993-94 they joined Utah Jazz.  
Jeff Hornacek’s fourteen year NBA career as a player for seven seasons with Utah Jazz highlight the long relationship they had. With the Utah Jazz from 1993 to 2000, Jeff’s career average remained 14.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists as he played a
total of 477 games.
Jeff Hornacek played 1077 games in total for three different teams, Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers, and Utah Jazz.  
Jeff Hornacek was also selected as an NBA All-Star player in 1992-1993 season. He won the Three-Point Shootout contest during All-Star Weekend in 1998 and 2000. He retired as a player on November 19, 2002.
