Jeff Louder who has been with team BMC since the last four seasons is expected to change his team by the end of this season. The American is currently racing at the Tour of Utah and is trying to attract the teams with his performance as he is at the end
of his contract.
The 33-year-old agreed that he has pending offers from various teams but he has not finalised anything yet and is looking forward for a high-quality performance at the ongoing Tour of Utah in order to get a better contract as he said, “My contract is up
this year, and I am currently looking at all the options."
Louder said that he is looking forward to give more time to his family as he mentioned that he has been in the sports for a long time and has now reached the point of his career where he is looking for what’s best for his family as he mentioned, “It’s a
balance; it’s attractive to me to be able to be home. At the same time, it’s a matter of what team I can find where I can do the best for the family and still compete at a high level in cycling.”
Jeff won the Redlands Bicycle Classics in 2009 and could not finish the 2010 Giro‘d Italia as he has to abandon the race at 11th stage. He also won the stage four of Tour of Utah, 2010.
Louder finished 21st with 17 seconds behind the race leader Sergio Luis Henao Montoya in the 2 kilometre Individual Time Trials stage 1 of Tour of Utah and was amongst the stage leaders in stage 2. Five cyclists leading the stage were Tom Danielson,
Lucas Euser, Pat McCarty, Francisco Mancebo and Jeff Louder.
He ended up 12th in the 182.9 kilometre stage 2 at the Tour of Utah and also won the Best Utah Rider award for the stage while Jesse Anthony, Sergio Luis and Oscar Sevilla finished the stage at the first, second and third positions respectively.
