Jeff Mayweather claims nobody thinks Manny Pacquiao can beat Floyd Mayweather – Boxing news
The Jazzy, Jeff Mayweather, who is a world-class trainer, has claimed after Manny Pacquiao’s recent performance that nobody thinks he can beat the undefeated American legend Floyd Mayweather except the fans of the Filipino star.
The Pac-Man, Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation World Welterweight Champion (Super Champion), recently secured a 12-round controversial majority decision over the Mexican Dinamita, Juan Manuel Marquez,
in their much-anticipated trilogy bout at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 32-year-old Pacquiao was expected to walk through the 38-year-old Marquez but he showed a lacklustre performance and survived a narrow escape. Therefore, Jeff believes almost everyone out there now thinks Pacquiao will not be able to get past Mayweather,
who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion.
Jeff told Fighthype.com, “If that gives you problems, they shouldn't even think about fighting Floyd at all...Bob is caught in a pickle. Bob has to make a realistic decision. Do we still try to maximize the earnings off of Manny, because he's already been
exposed to the point where, realistically to most people, the fight is already gone. Nobody thinks that Manny has a chance against Floyd other than the PacManiacs, and that really don't mean nothing.”
Jeff in the end insisted even a lot of Pacquiao fans have now admitted it is not possible for Pacquiao to beat Mayweather.
“But to the true boxing fan, and there are even some Pacquiao fans that switched up and now all of a sudden, 'Floyd would kill him.' But the reality is Floyd would have killed him anytime,” added Jeff.
Floyd Mayweather, who holds a perfect record of winning all of his 42 professional fights, including 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, was formerly rated as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
However, currently this number one position is held by Pacquiao which is a reason why people desperately want to see these two taking on each other because they want to know who the best pound-for-pound boxer among them is.
