Jeff Mayweather convinced Floyd Mayweather will fight Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
Jeff Mayweather is convinced his nephew Floyd Mayweather, who is a five-division world champion and World Boxing Council Emeritus World Super Welterweight Championship belt holder, will set up an eagerly awaited mega showdown with the eight-division world
champion and the current World Boxing Organisation’s Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), Manny Pacquiao.
Jeff reckons Mayweather’s bout with the Fighting Pride of Philippines, Pacquiao, will become real in 2013, as he told the media Floyd still has plans to fight for another couple of years.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I think he [Mayweather] will be fighting another couple of years. I think that's being realistic because I think the fight that's out there will take that long to materialise.”
In the meanwhile, Jeff also commented on Mayweather’s upcoming bout with the current World Boxing Council’s World Welterweight Champion, Victor ‘the Vicious’ Ortiz, which is set for September 17, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jeff claimed Ortiz, who is considered as one of the ‘top two’ Welterweight boxers in the world by most of the sporting news and boxing websites, will get knocked out against Mayweather, as he reckons his nephew will be too much for Ortiz.
Jeff stated Mayweather, who has earned Ring Magazine’s ‘Fighter of the Year’ award two times, (1998 and 2007) will be invincible on the fight night.
Jeff remarked, “He's going to be taken to school, drowned in the deep water and get himself knocked out. He's too smart for him; he can stand right in front of Victor Ortiz and do whatever he wants to do to him.”
Floyd Mayweather is an undefeated American legend who has won all of his 41 professional fights, with all of his 25 wins coming by the way of a knockout. However, we still have to see if he can easily shrug off Victor Ortiz, as Ortiz has also lost only twice
in his 33 bouts.
Moreover, let’s hope Jeff’s prediction about Floyd’s bout with Pacquiao does not prove wrong, as a bout between Mayweather and Pacquiao will certainly have all the hallmarks of becoming an absolute classic.
