Jeff Mayweather says Manny Pacquiao needs to prove himself, not Floyd Mayweather – Boxing news
Boxing coach Jeff ‘Jazzy’ Mayweather believes his nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, has nothing else to prove unlike Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao.
The Fighting Pride of Philippines, Manny Pacquiao, has won 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws), with 38 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. In comparison, the undefeated American legend Floyd Mayweather holds an incredible record of winning
all of his 42 professional fights, including 26 by the way of a knockout. Therefore, Jeff reckons his nephew is not the one who has to prove himself in the ring.
“He is still proving that nobody can beat him. Manny Pacquiao ain't proved that; he got his a*s whooped 3 times already,” he said to Fighthype.com. “He got enough power to where if that's what he want to do, then that's what he will do.”
“Floyd ain't got to prove nothing. He's already proved himself,” Jeff said.
Many people think Mayweather is avoiding Pacquiao because he knows Pacquiao will break his unbeaten record. However, Jeff disagrees with it as he claimed it is Pacquiao who is running away from the blood tests.
“Manny's the one that has to prove himself. If Manny don't want to take the test, [expletive] him,” he said.
The Mayweather-Pacquiao bout is one of the most eagerly awaited fights in the sport but unfortunately, it has not been scheduled so far since Mayweather wants Pacquiao to undergo Olympic-style drug testing. The style requires random blood sampling up to
an hour before the fight. Therefore, Pacquiao is not comfortable with it as he insists giving blood so close to the fight will affect his performance.
Let’s hope both fighters somehow agree to each other and sign a contract, as their bout will certainly have all the hallmarks of being an absolute classic.
