The Schalke striker has revealed that he turned down offers from Juventus and Bayern Munich in order to extend his stay at Schalke.
Schalke attacker, Jefferson Farfan, has insisted that he had to turn down offers from Bayern Munich and Juventus in order to extend his stay at the Veltins-Arena. He was talking after his side confirmed their UEFA Champions League
participation next season by defeating Werder Bremen in their last league game of this campaign.
Farfan mentioned that there was a strong offer from the Bavarian giants but Schalke was always his preference. The attacker mused that he admires the Gelsenkirchen outfit and their culture and therefore wishes to achieve his dreams
while playing for the Royal Blues.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peru-c2981 international stated that it is great honour for him to be considered by one of the best clubs in Europe. He showed gratitude to Bayern officials for acknowledging his talent and Schalke bosses for honouring him
with a renewed deal at the club.
While speaking to sports publication, Bild, the 27-years-old further added: "We spoke often with Bayern. Such interest made me very happy, of course. I have my dreams and I will achieve them at Schalke.”
On the other hand, he also commented on Juventus’ interest. Farfan mentioned that the Old Lady are amongst one of the best clubs but there sporting culture is totally different compared to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues. He doubted if he would
have been successful there had he opted to join them ahead of extending his stay at Schalke by two years.
"Juventus are a great club, but it's a different football that they play there. I would have had to reinvent myself had I gone there. Schalke are more attractive overall than Juventus," Farfan concluded.
Farfan joined Schalke from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven in 2008 and so far has made 109 league appearances bagging 23 goals in return. He spent most past of this season on the sidelines due to injury and made only 17 league appearances netting
