Jeffrey Loria makes Miami Marlins a laughing stock in Major League Baseball - MLB Part 2
Effectively Jeffrey Loria is bringing the Marlins back to where they were for the major part of their baseball history. Fans can come down to a level now where they can be sure that they will fail every year if not be humiliated and treated as a high school
team by the bigger more competitive teams.
They can stop making any connection with their extravagant ballpark and impressive performance. Unfortunately, they erroneously made such a co-relation in the last season at the behest of the top officials of the Marlins.
Top brass of the Marlins was successful in feeding the fans an assumption that success will follow automatically after their new ballpark. Fans, hungry to see the Marlins being paralleled with other big Major League clubs, accepted it immediately without
making an objective analysis.
Impulsive and knee-jerk fashion of handling affairs by Loria has allowed the rest of the baseball world to make fun of the Marlins. Today, the Marlins are considered as the epicentre of the funniest baseball reports. Every day something emanates from their
club house which creates drawing room laughter.
One good thing Loria has done in his years as owner is that he has let others know the steps that should not be taken by any Major League team if winning glory is an objective.
He has practically proven that having an unstable organisation is a guarantee of failure. He has left ample evidence for the observers that any club which resorts to a fire sale frequently and does not give players enough chances to prove their worth is
destined to struggle at the Major League level.
The organisations willing to improve can thank Loria for demonstrating before them how players without many opportunities given, unleash their best performances by the time they join other organisations.
Most of the players that the Marlins traded in the last few years saw dramatic improvements in their stats after they played for a different club.
Recently Hanley Ramirez was eliminated from the roster by them. Much to the disappointment of the Marlins, he was tremendous while playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
One of the Radio show hosts, Jeff DeForrest has made an interesting comment about the Marlins. He is so unhappy with the officials of the team that he sarcastically suggested the club to bring Fidel Castro on their roster now. By the way, the idea would
not create a stir as the team and the management are in the dumps right now.
After this, the best Loria can do is make Castro co-owner of the club and lead the club together. The chemistry will be great, after all both have managed their respective areas of control in an undemocratic fashion.
"The next move obviously is to have Fidel Castro throw out the first pitch next year," DeForrest said. "That's the only way they could alienate the fans more than they have."
DeForrest has taken a heavy swipe at the Marlins’ management, considering top officials responsible for the present mess.
"People are steamed," DeForrest said. "To dump the whole team is mind-boggling, but nothing is surprising with these two guys."
Despite all the criticism being levelled against Loria, he is least affected by it. If his recent statement is anything to go by, he will continue doing what he deems fit for his money-making ambitions.
