Jeffrey Loria talks about mega-trade by Miami Marlins - MLB Update

Miami Marlins' owner Jeffrey Loria hints that the mega-trade will not affect preparations of the team much.
Citing below par performance by the Marlins during 2012 regular season, he responded to the criticism arising due to the mega-trade that his team is about to agree to with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Soon after reports surfaced regarding the trade, fans across the city were extremely disappointed.
They were denouncing the volatile attitude of the management toward handling affairs of the team. As per the reports, what hurt the fans most was the star players that will be sent to the Jays as a result of the trade.
Regardless of how the fans feel, Loria holds a view that his team did not improve even with star players on the roster. Owner is unhappy with the way expensive players that he hired last year did not deliver the expected performances.
Marlins were active in the free agent market during offseason last year. They signed deals with high profile players, hoping that they will clinch a Division title based on their brilliant shows for the team.
Miami inaugurated their new Marlins ballpark before the start of the 2012 season, which was another reason of their new born optimism.
Their fans banked on the hype created about the ballpark and the presence of great players on the roster to begin dreaming dominance in the National League East.
Unfortunately, their team met failures.
Only remaining pride for the fans was the fact that some of the Marlins players have an amazing baseball record. With a block-buster trade taking place with the Jays, it seems that will also be taken away from them now.
Loria maintains that for as long as the Marlins perform poorly, he will continue bringing changes in order to make improvements.
"We have to get better,'' Loria said."We can't finish in last place. We finished in last place. That's unacceptable. We have to take a new course.''
Loria is known for panicking and taking important decisions in the face of failures. Instead of doing an objective analysis, he has the reputation of reacting impulsively.
Over the last few years, he has sacked one manager after another without allowing them enough time to prove themselves.
After the exclusion of star players, it will be interesting to see as to what the Marlins do to keep their preparations for the upcoming season on-course.
