Jeffrey Loria terms Miami Marlins a play-off calibre team as they take on Philadelphia Phillies-MLB
Regardless of where reality stands, the Miami Marlins’ owner Jeffrey Loria is steadfast in believing that their chances for making to the play-offs are bright. For him, the present roster features the best players the Marlins have ever had in their history.
As the month of June ends, dramatic change in their fate is being expected.
Marlins had a terrible month of June which saw them plummeting horribly and recording lengthy losing streaks.
They failed in every department of play. In contrast, May was a perfect month in terms of number of wins.
Such a dominant performance they put up in the month, it looked justified with expectations being heaped upon them before start of the season will not be difficult for the Marlins.
Unfortunately, they let the momentum slip away in June, while getting trapped by a jinx which brought them on the brink of being written off from the reckonings.
Right now, they are playing series with the Philadelphia Phillies in the Marlins’ new ballpark. Hoping to get rid of the slump being suffered in June, they aim to knock Phillies down and in turn give a new turn to their expedition.
Loria praises the manager Ozzie Guillen as he believes that he has been doing great job for the team. His efforts will start bearing fruits soon, he hoped.
“He’s keeping a very level head with these guys. I like what he’s been doing in many ways that are very subtle,” Loria said. “He talks to guys individually. He continues to encourage them.”
Jeffrey is confident that the month of August and September are going to be decisive. Marlins will have their best time in those months, he believes.
“School is now out, the [Heat’s] championship is accomplished, and we have a spectacular team — I still believe that, and I love our chances,” Loria said. “The Dolphins don’t play significant games until the fall. We’re going to play our significant games
in August and September, and by that time people will be so in love with us they won’t want to go anywhere else!”
Current series against the Phillies will decide where they will be heading further in the season. Winning it will be an ideal scenario which will help them in the upcoming games.
