Question:

Jehovah's Witnesses Lose Case & Pay Huge Fine For Polluting Pond, Where Did The Money Come From?

I am curious where the money came from to pay a $30,000 fine inposed on the Watchtower by the NYS DEPT OF ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION. Apparently the Watchtower has been polluting drinking water and was caught in an act of "Destroying the Earth" (Revelation 11:18).

I hope that none of the hard earned money that folks send in for the Worldwide Work was spent on this. Where do you think the money came from? Does anyone know where it came from?

  1. It seems likely that the questioner has little experience with New York State's bureaucratic "Department of Environmental Conservation".. ..

By the NYS DEC, $30,000 is hardly a "huge fine" for an organization the size of Watchtower (four thousand acres in and around its Wallkill facility alone). The so-called "pollution" was certainly NOT of "drinking water" (or the fine would have been six figures at least, and perhaps have involved criminal charges), but instead was a small retention pond entirely surrounded by Watchtower property. Perhaps the questioner is unaware that Watchtower's Wallkill facility is actually a working farm and cattle ranch (for many years the largest cattle operation in New York State), and typical farms at times experience unplanned runoff of fertilizer and/or manure.

The so-called "shale mine" on the Wallkill property supplied material with which the facility's own crews and equipment constructed parking areas, driveways, and hardscape/landscaping features around the farm. Doing so saved the facility hundreds of thousands of dollars, even when the administrative fine is taken into account. All of the facilities of Jehovah's Witnesses are funded by voluntary donations.

  2. OMG. If I remember correctly Peter was a close follower of Jesus Christ and not only did he denied Jesus but he did it three times. And to compare that to "polluting the earth" so you say, Whay do you think we should be focusing on more. I for one can assure you that As Jehovah's Witnesses we are taught from the bible that Jehovah is going to bring to ruin those ruining the earth. That is our stand. My god how can people be so picky. Besides you posted a link that has no authority. Watchtowerinfo blah blah blah is not an official site. Obviously it is to corrupt people to mislead them further ffrom following Jesus' foot steps closely. Only one group of people I know that does things like that are compared to Judas Iscariot. They know who they are.

As for the funds. Don't you know that the silver and gold belongs to God Almighty. Jehovah will make sure his people get the resources they need. He can move people's heart to contribute. And we have more than one fund. We have the WWW, Special funds, Kingdom Hall building fund, and one more I can't remember exactly. They don't force anyone to give them money to support God's work like others do. Condeming them to h**l if they don't.

  3. The answer is, all the suckers that hand over their paychecks to those crooks.

There should be a criminal penalty. If I did it, I would be in prison.

  4. When they come to your door, usually they would say "We are collecting money for Jehovah!" If the money goes anywhere in reverse, they would have to say "This money we are paying is coming from Jehovah!".

What they were doing with all that shale is a real mystery. Shale can be extracted into oil, so who would have thought they were into the oil business?

I hate to say anything about my JW neighbors 3 doors away, but they don't seem to respect the sewage pollutants they have running down into a river....no septic tank and no weeping field!!! We are in the country, and nowadays, everybody has to have a septic tank! They are following the old laws that allow it, but this does not respect what the leaders are preaching to them now about the environment!!!
