  1. No, but not for the reason you would think a JW would give. I think it is a STUPID name and would never name my son that!!!!!

  2. I know one JW named Christian, he's Nigerian.

And he was born into a JW family, so there.

  3. The question is about a child BORN INTO an already practicing JW family. I admit I have never seen it either which is interesting seeing how prominent the name is to the population in general.

JWs however do not value their Christian label as much as they value their "Jehovah Witness" label. They are more likely to name their child "Witness" than 'Christian."

John Witness Smith should be a common name with them.

Oh and don't forget to AUTOMATICALLY give me a thumbs down you Witnesses!

Forward you Witnesses, ever strong of heart.

Rejoice that in god's work you too may have a part.

Go tell far and wide God's new order is here,

that e'er long its rich blessings will be here.

Soldiers of Jah do not seek a life of ease...

  4. No, I would not.

But because I do not care for that name.

  5. wow. that a first. i know a baptized boy with that name. so yeah, there are people with the name.

  6. Funny you ask, I was good friend with a witness and his name was Christian. I don't see why not. I'm personally Mormon, the Jehovah in the Old Testament was Christ, so essentially they are witnesses of Christ.

  7. That child would be Christian indeed, even in WT organization

  8. No, I'd name him Sue [taking a hint from Johnny Cash] and never something g*y like Christian. That way, a boy named Sue is going to have to grow up tough and strong.

  9. My best friend from the Romanian Cong is named Christian Margienan.

  10. I know a JW named Christian.

  11. Well I know of a few.  A name is simply a name.  If a person named was Jesus (as a Spanish name), and then they came into the truth, their name would still be there name.  Christian is just a name as much a Micheal would be, or Joseph, or Samuel......ALL of them are Biblical.  But yet and still, they are just names.

And since we are on the topic of names, your user id is quite 'interesting' no?

  12. I'm an atheist, and *I* once suggested to my wife that we name our son "Christian" (although it was a reference to the story of Cyrano de Bergerac, not to the mythology of the Bible)...

We eventually settled on "Jacob" -- also a prominent biblical name...

  13. i have never seen a christian born child with the name mohammad

  14. Yes my son is named Christian.

He's 16 months and my husband, Christopher, didn't want a "JR" but he looked so much like him we had to get it as close as possible. :)

(((LOL...to the comment about us  more likely naming our children "witnesses". )))

  15. Yes, of course.. ..

Many parents among Jehovah's Witnesses have chosen to name their newborn "Christian".

  16. Well, my friend's name is Christina, does that count?

I don't know why that would be an issue.

I'd probably name my kid MELCHIZEDEK if I didn't think that'd hurt the dear boy.
