Everton boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikica-Jelavic-c27906 has made a huge impact, since his move to Goodison Park in January.
The 26 year old scored 2 goals against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday, to help his side secure a draw in the game. The result kept the Toffees at the seventh spot in the Premier League table.
The prolific striker came to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 in the January transfer window, on a four and a half year contract. Since his move, he has played a pivotal role in the club’s rise to the seventh spot.
So far, he has represented the Merseyside team on ten occasions and has netted five goals in total. His Premier League campaign this season saw him score 4 goals in 8 appearances, while taking 17 shots on goal in total.
The Everton manager was pleased with how his striker had adapted to the club, in such a short time span, and believed the Croatian International could have scored more goals against Norwich, had his side created more chances for him.
“He scored two really good goals, we’re just disappointed we couldn’t supply him with more than we should have in the first half. We didn’t provide the final ball often enough,” he said.
The Toffees have been particularly impressive in 2012, having won 7 of their 13 league games this year. The maverick striker has been instrumental in the club’s surge in the last couple of months. His five strikes this season include a winner against Tottenham
Hotspur at Goodison Park on the 10th of March.
“He’s certainly come in and made a big difference to us since January, because we needed someone who could come in and score for us and threaten the opposition.”
The Scott credited the striker for his notable presence in the side, and viewed him as a valuable goal scoring asset for Everton in the future. However, the 48 year old was wary of the fact that he cannot go on to play him in all the matches.
“Physically he has looked a couple of times as if he might need to be taken off because he’s probably been asked to do a lot more than he’s used to,” he added.
When asked to comment on the match against Norwich City on Saturday, he admitted that the score line was the right depiction of how the match went, and believed that Norwich deserved to draw level in the game.
