  1. I surf there and I've never gotten stung.

  2. There is a risk of getting bitten by a shark, humped by a elephant seal, hitting your head on a rock, having your leash shackle your legs underwater... and you're sweating jellyfish??? Grow a pair!

  3. Id say little to none especially if you wear a full body wetsuit, because its gonna be too cold otherwise, and dont even worry about jellyfish stings, they dont hurt.  Sure it stings but its not too bad just pee on it.  Good luck surfing california

  4. I paddled into 2 last week and saw one floating right next to me. Don't worry about it, just keep an eye out.

  5. Since you pretty much have to wear a full suit to surf Central CA there is little risk of being stung.  Their nematocysts won't penetrate even a rash guard so you should be perfectly safe.

You can check out the following link for Pacific Ocean jellies.

  6. just surf with someone else it reduces your chances of getting stung by half!
