Question:

Jelly like discharge?

I am 28 and just went off Nuva Ring for contraception while my health insurance changes over. Suddenly with no accompanying odor or pain, my usual discharge has gone from slightly thick to mucus-y jello type stuff. It's still mostly clear, no yellow or green colors, and no smells etc so I don't think it's a YI or BV. Any ideas? Should I worry? It's just weird- like playing with phlegm or something.

  1. Sounds like cervical mucus to me.  Some women get very scant quantities of it, while others get copious quantities.  Maybe you are falling into the second group.

It's nothing to worry about; it's just an indicator that you're ovulating (so be CAREFUL if you don't want to be pregnant!).

  2. It could be 1 of two things. 1 it could be your period is about to start. And this is your body's way of telling you. Or 2 you could be pregnant. Its a early sign, but not a sign you should go off that your pregnant. When pregnant you body produces this discharge its called a mucus plug its what keeps the baby safe in your uterus so nothing can harm the baby. i would say if you start feeling any other signs that go along with pregnancy i would take a test in about 2-3weeks
