Having encountered the stinging cells of jellies while diving,I'd just as soon forego both options. However  sea turtles eat them so that might be the lesser of the two evils. Also, some species don't sting at all.

I eat jellyfish regularly.  Its perfectly safe to eat.  Like most things, once its dead and boiled its not harmful to you.

I like jellyfish salad... its jelly fish with green bell peppers & udon noodles tossed with an italian oil dressing.  Sometimes octopus is put in with it.

If you've ever had seaweed salad, one of the 4 or 5 main ingreedients is sliced jellyfish.  You've probably eaten it without knowing if you've had much japanese food.

I bet shredded, pickled jellyfish would go good as a condiment on hot dogs.

Filter feeders like jellyfish are great, renewable source of food protein that's actually much less gross than tofu.  Have a jellyfish pasta, then watch a video on how industrialized tofu production works and you'll prefer simple boiled jellyfish just about any day of the week.
