Rayo Vallecano boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paco-c29025 Jemez, has described his team’s 2-0 win over Real Mallorca as their best game of the season so far.
Vallecano had the upper hand throughout much of the game, but the hosts could not get the breakthrough they needed to grab all three points.
Jemez’s men were determined to break the ice as they pushed forward, but the Islanders were just holding their ground and never allowing the hosts to penetrate their defences.
That is how it continued until the dying minutes of the game as Vallecano went for the kill.
Then the breakthrough moment came as two late strikes from Leo Baptistao and Andrija Delibasic were enough to give the hosts a much deserved victory over the Islanders at the Campo de Vallecas on Sunday afternoon.
Rayo Vallecano boss was quick to praise his Brazilian forward, Leo, and said that he is in a class of his own. Jemez also remarked on the fine form his player is enjoying.
The Spaniard stated that Leo is an inspiration to everyone at the club.
“Leo is showing the category of player that he is. Not only is he on a roll but he’s enjoying himself and inspiring us. He’s a great player with a good future and we are here to help.”
The 42-year-old coach hailed the performance of his team and described their display as their best so far this season.
“I would say it’s our best game of the season. As we have not made any mistakes and we have had the patience to break down Mallorca.”
Meanwhile, Real Mallorca coach, Joaquin Caparros, also thought Rayo were the worthy winners while conceding that it was the Brazilian youngster who was the difference between the two sides.
“I liked Rayo, they won deservedly and now we have to think of the coming squeeze to get points. We generated chances, but the action of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leo-c22011 unbalanced the game.”
This is only the second time Rayo Vallecano have managed to register three points without conceding a goal. They are currently 8th in the Primera Division league standings.
