Jemma Schlicht’s stunning performance at the 2011 Australian Age Championships
Jemma Schlicht stunned the arena at the 2011 Australian Age Championships when she took home three gold medals in the Girls 12/13 years 50m freestyle, 100m and 200m butterfly events at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Adelaide, last week.
Schlicht clinched the Girls 12/13 years 50m freestyle title with a remarkable time of 26.22 seconds, while S Haughey of Honk Kong won the silver medal with a time of 26.50 seconds and B Thornton of QLD captured the bronze with a 26.22 seconds effort.
In the Girls 12/13 years butterfly final, she claimed the golden crown with a stunning time of 1:01.51 minutes. Meanwhile, M Emmett of WA took the silver with a 1:02.53 minutes effort and L Lassman of QLD snared the bronze in a time of 1:03.10 minutes.
Astoundingly, Schlicht picked up the top seed in the Girls 12/13 years 200m butterfly final with an incredible time of 2:18.92 minutes, while T Green of QLD nabbed the silver in 2:18.96 minutes. A Bowles of QLD captured the bronze in a time of 2:20.56 minutes
in the following meet.
The Girls 12/13 100m freestyle title was taken over by S Haughey of Hong Kong with a fabulous time of 56.51 seconds, while she also clinched the 200m freestyle crown with a fascinating time of 2:02.28 minutes.
In the Girls 12/13 years 400m freestyle final, T Green of QLD won the golden crown with a superb time of 4:21.18 minutes. S Song of SA claimed the silver in a time of 4:23.52 minutes, while Z Lovi of QLD won the bronze in 4:26.61 minutes. C Gubecka of QLD
won the 800m freestyle event with a sterling time of 8:54.63 minutes, while her team-mate, A Forrester grabbed the 100m back-stroke crown with a remarkable time of 1:04.61 minutes.
Forrester also claimed the Girls 12/13 years 200m back-stroke title with a winning time of 2:17.60 minutes. The Girls 12/13 years 200m breast-stroke crown was captured by L Bristow of WA with a winning time of 2:41.45 minutes, while M Smith of VIC won the
silver in 2:41.51 minutes. K Diamond of NSW grabbed the bronze in a time of 2:43.01 minutes.
In the 200m Individual Medley final, S Haughey of Hong Kong won the gold medal with a stunning time of 2:18.58 minutes. T Green of QLD snared the silver with a 2:19.56 minutes effort, while A Forrester wound up third in a time of 2:22.10 minutes.
Finally, the Girls 12/13 years 400m IM title was captured by T Green of QLD with a matchless time of 4:55.20 minutes. S Haughey nabbed the silver with a time of 5:01.79 minutes and C Gubecka and A Bowles of QLD settled for a tie in 5:03.2 minutes.
