Jenari conquered the Grade 2 Coolmore N.H Sires Ask & Getaway Novice Hurdle on 8th April, 2012
Jenari created excitement among the spectators, punters, jockeys and trainers, as he thrashed the competition and stole the show in the Grade 2 Coolmore N.H Sires Ask & Getaway Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on 8th April, 2012.
Under the guidance of A. P. McCoy, Jenari did justice to his status as a favourite.
He entered the race with odds of 11 to 4, and maintained his composure along with his brisk pace to outrun Bridgets Pet by 3 ¾ lengths.
Trainer Mrs. John Harrington and owner, J.P McManus were pleased with the way the five-year-old son of Milan, out of La Noire, performed.
Harrington told the press:
"He's a genuine two-and-a-half miler who really likes good ground. I suppose we'll head to Punchestown now."
Bridgets Pet, trained by Anthony Mullins for owner, Barry Connell, aimed to land a victory, but fell slightly short.
He entered the race with odds of 10 to 1, hoping he could defeat the favourite, but that was not how it turned out.
He brought his best to the track but still fell short, and could not make-up for the margin in the last stages of the race.
The five-year-old gelding was mounted by jockey, Daniel Mullins.
Lyreen Legend, son of Saint Des Saints, out of mare Bint Bladi, secured a finish in third place.
The five-year-old gelding performed well, and pleased his connections with a placed finish.
Owned by the Lyreen Syndicate and currently under the training of D. T. Hughes, the gelding seems to have a bright future.
He was mounted by Bryan J. Cooper and fell short of the finish as a runner-up by ¾ of a length.
This was Jenari’s first victory of the season and with his stellar form, there are definitely more to come.
This performance showed steady progression for the runner, as he started his season with a finish in third place in the WWW.leopardstown.com Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown on 4th March, 2012, where he missed the victory by
1 ¼ lengths to winner, Steel Park.
