So far, the new Swans gaffer has experienced a mixed start at the club. He saw his team dismantle Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 5-0 – their first win at the Loftus Road Stadium – and West Ham United 3-0 in their opening two games.
However, since then, there performance his dipped considerably, having succumbed to three back-to-back defeats before finally ending the rut last week by securing a 2-2 draw against Reading.
Currently, Swansea are placed eleventh in the league standings.
Although the team’s performance has been lacklustre in the last couple of matches, Laudrup continues to enjoy the support of the chairman.
Jenkins revealed that the Dane had been appointed manager for the long run, and he had no qualms that the club had a bright future under his supervision.
While talking to reporters, he said: “Michael Laudrup and his staff have the full support of everyone connected to Swansea City and will continue to do so during the long season ahead.”
“No doubt from time to time outside forces beyond our control will make attempts to unsettle our football club and we have to accept that.”
The Welsh outfit took the Premier League by the storm in the prevenient campaign, finishing eleventh in their debut appearance at the English top-flight.
However, a lot has changed since then, as apart from losing out the services of Rodgers, their multiple star players decamped from the Liberty Stadium during the summer to ply their trade elsewhere.
Nonetheless, the Swans supremo enthused that his club were in the Premier League to stay and they have the potential to overcome all the odds to meet their objectives.
“Swansea City will remain solid, on and off the football field, and will continue to fight against all the odds to compete at Premier League level,” he added.
