Arsenal’s young full back, Carl Jenkinson has gone on to reveal that he is focused on playing his best for the Gunners, while revealing that he isn’t thinking about playing for the national side just yet.
It is believed that Roy Hodgson is looking to ask Jenkinson to be a part of the England squad, when the Three Lions take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983. With the manager seemingly wanting to make the youngster a part of the World Cup qualifiers for his team, it
is safe to assume that once he is in the team, he is going to stay there for quite some time.
The player has not yet played a senior game for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Finland-c2898’s Under -19’s and Under – 21’s.
When talking about his focus for the coming games, and revealing just how he felt about all these link ups with the national team, Jenkinson is reported to have said: "To be honest I'm just concentrating on my club football, that's my bread and butter"
"I'm just focused on the here and now and the next game and that's [Wednesday] with Olympiakos.”
"Finland have contacted me. I've told them, my exact words when I spoke to them was: 'I'm focusing on my club football', so that's all there is to it. You can read into that how you want.”
"I'm going to have to make a decision at some point. As I've said many times, I will cross that bridge when I come to it. Until then I'm just concentrating on each game as it comes."
This season, Jenkinson has gone on to break free and really prove his worth for the national team.
With Sagna out injured, the full back has really stepped his game up and adopted into the Gunners play style.
Should he continue to play the way he has been, it wouldn’t be hard to see him get called up to play for England, given the fact that there aren’t many young talented full backs left to choose from.
It is now a wait to see just what happens with Jenkinson, and these rumours linking him with an England call up.
