Hi,
I've been battling some ongoing problems with my dual fuel oven/stove. In November the lower heating element stopped working. A service tech. installed a new board and all seemed fine, however the oven fan was now noisier than it had ever been before. At first it was just the cooling fan that was noisy, but then in December the down draft would turn on whenever we operated the oven and wouldn't respond to the "off" button. Again, service was called. We waited for parts and in Feb a new cooling fan motor was installed. The oven was still very noisy (apparently from the cooling fan) but the down draft problem disappeared for 3 weeks. My service tech told me that the oven was always this noisy, however that's not true. Also, the cooling fan runs for about an hour to cool down a 350 degree oven. This too seems unusual. Now, the down draft comes on again "automagically" when the oven heats up. (Today it came on when the oven hit 450 degrees.) In retrospect we should have just bought a new stove/oven however we now have about $800 in repairs invested so that's no longer an option. Can you help me figure out what's wrong?

I'm also curious if Jenn Air has any specifications regarding the level of noise the cooling fan should emit and how long it should take for an oven to cool down.

Thanks, Kim
