Jenn Sterger’s father enraged at Brett Favre
The father of model and former New York Jets gameday host, Jenn Sterger, had a couple of carefully selected words for Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre.
Leo Sterger said, "I better not meet that guy walking down a dark alley."
Leo Sterger expressed his anger over the fact that the NFL did not suspend the veteran quarterback for claims that he harassed Sterger while they were both with the Jets in 2008. On Wednesday the league imposed a $50,000 fine upon Favre for not cooperating
with the investigation. Since the investigation began in October, Favre has refused to talk to reporters about the incident.
“It’s a complete joke the penalty they gave him," said Leo Sterger in an interview posted on the Internet. "Their decision is a complete travesty to women and they are just treating him this way because he is the NFL’s golden boy. As a father I am absolutely
furious."
The married father of two was stunned back in early October when a website posted a video of the messages and pictures which Favre allegedly sent Sterger, including one where he invited her to his hotel room. The video also included a distasteful picture
that Favre sent Sterger. The league said that there was insufficient evidence to rule that Favre did send the illicit pictures, although Sterger’s attorney Joseph Conway said that there was "ample evidence" that the pictures were sent by Favre.
Leo Sterger also said that despite the constant media coverage of the incident, his daughter is doing great. He said, “Jenn is doing well, all things considered and if anything she feels vindicated after the NFL’s decision. She’s a strong woman and she is
going to be OK, personally." However he didn’t stop there, going on to say that he would be happy if "Favre never plays football again.”
He might get his wish though, since the Vikings play their final game of the season against the Detroit Loins. However, Favre is not likely to play in that game. He failed a baseline neurological test late Wednesday afternoon, and the NFL has made it mandatory
for a player that suffers a concussion to pass the baseline test in order to be cleared to play.
Favre has already said that this will be his last season in the NFL, but no one will believe him until they see it. He has already retired and come back multiple times in his amazing 20-year career, but it looks as though this will finally be the last season
for the future Hall of Famer.
