Jennie Johansson earns Women’s 50m breast-stroke title in Stockholm

Day two of the 2011 Swedish Short Course Nationals ended with quite a few entertaining swims of athletes in Stockholm, Sweden, on Friday, November 25. Jennie Johansson won Women’s 50m breast-stroke title by posting a scintillating blot of 30.21 seconds.
More importantly, she thrashed down Emma Igelstrom’s previous best meet record of 30.24 seconds, set back in 2002. Joline Hostman got second position in the respective race by claiming the finishing wall in a time of 30.95 seconds, while the bronze title
went to Henriette Brekke in a mark of 31.49 seconds.

Louise Hansson outperformed Martina Granstrom by submitting a striking mark of 26.42 seconds to claim Women’s 50m butterfly crown, while Granstrom settled at second spot in a time of 26.52 seconds. Meanwhile, Emma Svensson earned bronze title in a time of 26.63
seconds.
In the meantime, the Women’s 800m freestyle title was taken over by Martina Granstrom in a thrilling time of 8 minutes and 39.96 seconds. Laura Lajunen finished second by banging the finishing fence in a time of 8 minutes and 46.07 seconds, whereas, Rebecka
Ekelund settled at third spot in a time of 8 minutes and 49.78 seconds.
Additionally, the Men’s 200m butterfly title was taken over by Alexander Linge in a triumphant blot of 1 minute and 59.97 seconds. Adam Ackerstierna settled at second place in a time of 2 minutes and 00.00 seconds, while Eric Smedlund pocketed bronze medal
by claiming the finishing blockade in a time of 2 minutes and 01.31 seconds.
Simon Sjodin took home the Men’s 200m back-stroke crown by thumping the finishing divider in a victorious blot of 1 minute and 55.66 seconds. Mattias Carlsson finished second in a mark of 1 minute and 55.95 seconds, whereas, Pontus Renholm settled at third
spot in a time of 1 minute and 56.44 seconds.

Finally, the Men’s 200m medley relay title was clinched by the team of Simon Sjodin, Niklas Tour, Pontus Flodqvist and Petter Stymne in a time of 1 minute and 36.48 seconds. In addition, the Women’s 400m freestyle relay title went to the squad of Josefin Lindkvist,
Ida Sandin, Petra Granlund and Gabriella Fagundez in a time of 3 minutes and 37.53 seconds.
