Jennifer Capriati says she did not stalk her ex-boyfriend – Tennis News
Former world number one, Jennifer Capriati, has denied the claims that she had been stalking his ex-boyfriend, Ivan Brannan.
The American retired professional believes that her ex-boyfriend is not a good person and does not have any honesty in himself. The 36-year-old shared that Brannan hurried in their relationship. She stated that they got engaged
soon after getting in a relationship and then her ex-boyfriend did not take much time in ending it.
Capriati revealed that Brannan told her after eight months of the start of their relationship that he had a child. The American legend made her position clear that she was not stalking her ex-boyfriend but just trying to contact
him to clear their differences. The former tennis pro believes that Police should not have brought into this matter. The multiple Grand Slam winner went on to say that she had never thought that she would have to give explanations like this. Capriati ended
by saying that men like Brannan often target people like her.
In Capriati’s words, “He’s a real bad person, very dishonest. One day I’m his girlfriend, the next we’re engaged and then it’s like I never existed. It took him eight months of our relationship to admit to me he had a child. Imagine
that… I was just trying to talk to him because he wasn’t returning my calls. There’s no way police should’ve been called. I can’t believe I even have to discuss this! People like me are always the targets of men like him.”
Brannan is a golfer, who used to represent Florida. According to Gossip Extra, which is a newspaper published from South Florida, Brannan went to the court to complain that Capriati called him over hundred times at work and disturbed
his privacy.
Controversies are not a new thing for the American legend, who faced them heavily in the early part of her career. Capriati came to a sudden rise, as she became the youngest female tennis player to enter the top 10 in the world
rankings. The American player stunned the then world number one, Steffi Graf, to capture Gold Medal at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992.
However, Capriati had to take a 14 month break from tennis, as she was arrested for shoplifting and for possession of Marijuana in the post 1993 US Open.
She captured her maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2001 and then she won the French Open after few months. The American star went on to become the highest ranked women tennis player in October of that year.
