Jennifer Connolly secures Women’s 100m back-stroke title – 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals
Day two of the 2011 USA Swimming Long Course Nationals began in brilliant fashion with the impressive effort of Jennifer Connolly in Paloalto, California, on Wednesday, August 3.
The session of the preliminary heats conducted the Women’s 100m back-stroke race, in which Jennifer Connolly of VOLSSE won the heat with a triumphant time of 1 minute and 01.05 seconds.
Melissa Franklin of STARCO earned second place honours on the podium with an impressive time of 1 minute and 01.09 seconds, while Elizabeth Pelton of NBACMD rounded out the top three swimmers in a time of 1 minute and 01.24 seconds.
Rachel Bootsma of AQJTMN finished fourth on the podium with a time of 1 minute and 01.47 seconds. Megan Romano of ABSCGA was placed fifth in a time of 1 minute and 01.59 seconds, while Madison White of CROWPC settled sixth in 1 minute and 01.74 seconds.
Elizabeth Beisel of ABFNE wound up seventh in 1 minute and 01.95 seconds.
Marykate Mcneilis of GCSTOH finished eighth in 1 minute and 02.04 seconds and Cindy Tran of WCSCA was placed ninth in a time of 1 minute and 02.21 seconds. Lauren Smart of Fordaz earned tenth place in 1 minute and 02.27 seconds.
In the Women’s 100m back-stroke B heat, Kristen Shickora of ABSCGA was placed first with a time of 1 minute and 02.28 seconds and Sarah Denninghoff of FORDAZ finished second in 1 minute and 02.37 seconds. Emily Bos of AUBSE settled third in 1 minute and
02.45 seconds, while Kelsey CONCI of UWYOWY finished fourth in 1 minute and 02.48 seconds. Lauren English of ABSCGA grabbed the fifth spot in 1 minute and 02.57 seconds.
In the 100m back-stroke C heat, Olivia Smoliga of GTACIL wound up first in 1 minute and 02.98 seconds and Margaret Meyer of FORDAZ was placed second in 1 minute and 03.03 seconds, whereas, Jillian Vitarius of BTAGU settled third on the podium in 1 minute
and 03.06 seconds
Felicia Lee of STNPC finished fourth in 1 minute and 03.11 seconds, while Kelsey Moran of OSUOH was placed fifth in the respective after she touched the finishing wall in 1 minute and 03.13 seconds.
