Jennifer Rosales finishes 8th at Thailand Ladies Open
Jennifer Rosales seized the 8th position at the Thailand Ladies Open, making a solid start in her first ever tournament not aligned with the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association).
The Ladies Asian Golf Tour event played at the Lakewood Country Club, Bangkok featured several leading players but Rosales remained the most competent, grabbing the opportunity to prove her mettle.
The tough battle, that pitted top Asian golfers against each other, saw Nontaya Srisawang rack up the title.
The weather conditions at the Lakewood Country Club were comfortable most of the day, giving players enough room to make calculated putts.
The match winner Srisawang put her putting skills to test and fired an impressive 9-under 207. The score was hefty enough to keep her rivals at a distance.
Best of all, Srisawang carded a massive 7-under 65 in the final round. The score is believed to be the highest at the Lakewood and has helped the winner rise as one of the most competent players in Asian golf.
On the other hand, the Filipino star golfer, Jennifer Rosales was also complacent with what she did on the course. She did expect to produce a remarkable score.
Although she could not seize the top spots, she managed to put herself in the spotlight, bolstering her image in Asian golf.
Rosales’s score was a modest 5-under total, which kept most of her rivals at bay. Thanks to good weather conditions, Rosales made comfortable strokes.
Her putting appeared to be at its peak, as she came off well on some of the trickiest holes, avoiding messing up the scorecard.
Other players who posed some challenge to Rosales were Pinrath Loonboonruang, Thidapa Suwannapura and Plucksataporn from Thailand. The players then shared the lead with the 33-year-old LPGA icon.
Rosales’s round was not completely flawless. She made a number of putts that proved futile.
Although she made three bogies in the round, she offset the bogeys by draining a birdie on the 15th
hole.
The Filipino has been amazing right from the start of her career. She grabbed the headlines when she was given an exemption for the 2000 LPGA Tour Season. Her performance in the Qualifying event was superb, helping her finish tied for the 7th
spot.
