Jennifer Tam ousts Chiao Ling Cheng in second round fight at Australian Closed Championships Sydney
Jennifer Tam, a budding shuttler from Australia, displayed tremendous performance in Women’s Singles second round when she gave a severe lesson to her compatriot Chiao Ling Cheng at the 2012 Australian Closed Championships Sydney on Wednesday, August 29, in Australia.
The impressive Jennifer, who has been positioned at number two in Women’s Singles main draw in the championship, showed her lofty craft on court and remained successful in crushing Chiao Ling in a lopsided manner.
Higher ranked Jennifer played with incredible speed and control as she did her best to maintain pressure on her rival and remained successful in ending up the match in two games with a smashing difference on score board.
Un-seeded Chiao Ling, in the meanwhile, could not put up remarkable show as she failed to match the speed of Jennifer and also remained struggling to remain positive on court. She lost the battle easily with a one-sided margin.
First set completely belonged to Jennifer who played with control and power. She took wonderful lead at the early stage without even putting in extra effort.
The positive and aggressive play of Jennifer pushed her miles ahead on score board until the one-minute interval.
After the mid-game break, Jennifer continued showing up her elevated craft on court as she played attacking badminton and stretched her lead without any trouble.
Second seeded Australian shuttler remained successful in snatching the first set with a stunning 21-10 score on the board.
In the second set, Chiao Ling tried her best to play better badminton but she failed to cope up with the speed and perfection of her opponent.
Jennifer almost gave up fighting and remained struggling miles behind Jennifer on score board until the break.
After having rest for one-minute, the impressive Jennifer again continued her roller-coaster run on court without showing Chiao Ling any respect in the whole set.
Higher ranked Jennifer remained on track and easily took the second game with an incredible margin of 21-7.
Spirited Jennifer won this one-sided straight set battle with a crushing 21-10 and 21-7 score on the board.
