Jenny Cowen shines in the 10m platform final - Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix Diving Competition
Jenny Cowen of Great Britain put on a show and had the best performance in the Women’s 10m platform final at the 2011 Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix Diving Competition in the Olympic Park Pool this week.
She captured the third place in the 10m platform semi-final with a sterling score of 317.45 and had booked her place for the final successively.
Most importantly, Cowen grabbed 8s on her first four diving rounds at the Olympic Park pool. In the Back two and a half Somersaults piked, she was unable to produce a good score. However, Cowen made a good come-back at the final stages of the meet and secured
her highest international score.
She wound up with a competitive total score of 341.00 and grabbed the fifth place in the Women’s 10m platform final.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that European Champion, Noemi Batki has the highest international score than the Leeds’ diver Jenny Cowen in the world rankings at the moment.
On the other hand, Jack Laugher and Oliver Dingley nabbed the sixth place in the Men’s 3m synchro final. Such an amazing performance from the British young divers in the Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix Diving Competition shows that they are learning from their
shared experiences of their senior divers in a completely professional and steadfast manner.
Both Laugher and Dingley grabbed good points on their mandatory dives at the Olympic Park Pool and they scored persistently throughout the other rounds. But unfortunately, they were unable to perform well in their fourth dive of Inward three and a half Somersaults
tucked in the meet.
Afterward, they performed consistently well throughout the final rounds, they wound up their Front three and a half Somersaults piked with a competitive score of 71.61. All in all, they snagged 341.91 points in the 3m synchro final.
After the 3m synchro final, both the Junior British divers were delighted by their consistent diving performances at the Olympic Park Pool in front of the whistling crowd in Montreal.
In the Women’s 10m Synchro final, Cowen and Brooke Graddon captured the eighth place with a decent total score of 249.30.
They had the best performance in their optional dives but they were unable to manage a good score in their hardest dives. As a result, they had to drop the leader board.
Cowen was immensely pleased and satisfied with her overall diving performances in the Women’s 10m platform and 10m synchro events on the final day of the 2011 Canada Cup FINA Grand Prix Diving Competition in the Olympic Park Pool this week in Montreal.
