Jenny Mensing pockets Women’s 100m back-stroke title: 2011 German Short Course Nationals
Jenny Mensing crashed her rivals on the penultimate evening session of the 2011 German Short Course Nationals, in Wuppertal, Germany, on Sunday, November 27.
More importantly, Jenny Mensing claimed Women’s 100m back-stroke crown by hitting the finishing fence in a triumphant mark of 59.31 seconds. Meanwhile, Silke Lippok grabbed silver medal in the respective swim by smacking the finishing divider in a time of
59.71 seconds. The bronze title went to Doris Eichhorn in a mark of 1 minute and 00.57 seconds.
In the meantime, Julia Leidgebel got fourth position in the respective race by thumping the finishing barrier in a time of 1 minute and 00.74 seconds and the fifth place honour went to Christin Zenner in a mark of 1 minute and 01.05 seconds, respectively.
Moreover, Johanna Roas earned sixth position in a time of 1 minute and 01.33 seconds and Betty Buschick settled at seventh spot in a mark of 1 minute and 01.66 seconds. Alisa Riebensahm earned eighth position in the respective swim by claiming the finishing
barricade in a time of 1 minute and 02.16 seconds. As a result of her astonishing performance in the 100m back-stroke race, Jenny Mensing was awarded the gold medal by the panel of adjudicators.
In the meantime, Annika Bruhn claimed Women’s 100m back-stroke B final heat in the arena by thumping the finishing barricade in a winning time of 1 minute and 01.33 seconds. Selina Hocke earned second place in the respective splash by banging the finishing
barrier in a time of 1 minute and 01.41 seconds, while the third position went to Eileen Diener in a mark of 1 minute and 02.25 seconds.
Franziska Wohlert and Tanja Makaric earned fourth and fifth positions in the B final heat by thrashing the finishing wall in a time of 1 minute and 02.49 seconds and 1 minute and 02.60 seconds, respectively. In addition, Jenny Lahl got sixth position by
striking the finishing barricade in a time of 1 minute and 03.08 seconds and the seventh place honour went to Kathrin Demler in a spot of 1 minute and 03.28 seconds. The eighth position went to Joana Vob in a mark of 1 minute and 03.33 seconds.
Earlier in the day, Wojt took home the Men’s 200m Individual Medley title by smashing his rivals in the arena in an impressive mark of 1 minute and 58.47 seconds. Wallburger earned silver medal in the respective race by striking the finishing divider in
a time of 1 minute and 58.62 seconds, while the bronze title went to Fabian Schwingenschlogl in a blot of 1 minute and 59.31 seconds.
The 2011 German Short Course Nationals is offering a golden opportunity to all swimmers of Germany to prepare themselves hard for their upcoming meets.
