Jenny Shin happy with 2012 performance
When Jenny Shin began her 2012 season on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), only a few had thought that she would be able to improve her game.
Shin has been quick to realise her potential, which is evident from the fact that she finished inside the top 10 in some of the events in the season, and she thinks her game in on the right
track.
Having started her rookie career in the 2011 season, Shin has boosted her confidence in the last few months. However, the 2012 season came with plenty of surprises, seeing her record five
top-ten finishes.
Speaking to the media about her 2012 season, Shin said that she has been lucky enough to improve her game. She said that she came close to grabbing a victory in several tournaments, but she
needs to work even harder to achieve her goals.
“I have learned much more about myself and learned much about this game of golf,” Shin said.
“I've had some up and downs. I was very close to meeting my goal of winning. The good thing is now I've got an idea of what it takes!”
Observers said that the young gun was able to grab a victory, and most of her rivals also thought that she would rack up her maiden title in the year.
Her best performance was seen at the HSBC Women’s Champions 2012. She posted an overall score of 278 to take the share of second position on the leaderboard. It was a stunning performance
in every sense as Shin battled some of the big names on the LPGA, rattling them on the greens and fairways.
Observers said that Shin made a rock-solid start to her campaign as she posted a 69 in the first round. She continued her fiery form in the second round as well, shooting a 67 to further boost
her position on the leaderboard.
The ISPS Handa Australian Open 2012, the first tournament of the 2012 LPGA season, was the scene of a relentless battle among big names. But Shin overshadowed most of the rivals in the lineup
with the help of her strong performance.
She finished seventh after carding a total score of 290 on the leaderboard. Commentators said that Shin could have done a lot better, but her short game was in the best shape in all the four
rounds.
