The former Arsenal goalkeeper reckons that the Bayern Munich shot-stopper will be hard to replace in the national team as long as he stays fit.

The 42-year-old believes that the new generation of German keepers might have to face an extended wait before getting their chance to represent the national side.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 star has showered praise on Neuer, and believes that the German has made rapid growth in his career. He feels that Germany are blessed to have such a talented goalkeeper at their disposal, who has done extremely
well since taking over from Rene Adler.
While talking to Sport-Bild, the 42-year-old further opined:
"He [Neuer] will probably suppress a generation. Over the next eight to 10 years, under normal circumstances, no-one will be able to come out from under his shadow. He is number one. He thinks well, is relatively consistent and
is also a great athlete. No one can hold a candle to him."
Neuer was handed the number one jersey during the 2010 FIFA World Cup after Adler was ruled out of the competition due to injury. Since then, the goalkeeper has stayed firm between the bars, and has been performing exceedingly
well for both Germany and Bayern.
Lehmann, who himself remained the German number one for almost 10 years, believes that the former Schalke star has all what it takes to become the best in the business in the near future.
The former Borussia Dortmund custodian believes that Neuer’s role will be extremely important if Germany are to win the upcoming Euro 2012.
Neuer joined Schalke at the age of 6, and after spending almost 19 years at the club, he left them to join Bayern Munich before the start of the ongoing season. The 25-year-old made 155 league appearances for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues, and
led them to victory in the 2010/11 German Cup.
After making his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 debut in 2009, Neuer has made 25 international appearances so far for his country. He will unarguably be the first-name on Joachim Low’s squad sheet for the Euro 2012.
