Jens Voigt positive with Team RadioShack-Nissan chances at the Tour de France 2012
Team RadioShack-Nissan is desperately in need of some wins to make up for its disappointing start to the 2012 season, which was merely surrounded by the injuries and some poor performances.
The team’s star rider Andy Schleck had one of the worst seasons of his career and failed to register even a single win during the first half of the season.
Things got even worst when Andy had to abandon the Tour de France because of a knee surgery that he had earlier in May, this year.
The three-time podium finisher at the race was definitely the most appropriate cyclist to make it happen for Johan Bruyneel at the Tour de France.
Team RadioShack-Nissan is now counting on Andy’s elder brother, Frank Schleck to do the job for them.
Frank is definitely the second most experienced cyclist in the side and is an ideal General Classifications contender.
However, Frank has also raced the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de Luxembourg and the Tour de Suisse.
The cyclist previously stated that, he does not have enough strength in him to challenge the likes of Bradley Wiggins and Cadel Evans at the Tour de France.
One of the team’s most experienced cyclist Jens Voigt has voiced that despite all the setbacks, the team is full of enthusiasm and is united ahead of the mega event.
He told Cyclingnews, "I got more people asking me about the morale in the team than anything else but we’ve been here for two and half days and it’s really good”.
“We train together and it’s a good group of riders we have here. We’re looking forward to finally starting and it’s good".
"I don’t think there’s any problems that we can’t solve or that we should be bothered or make us too concerned to stop us riding the Tour de France”.
“The perfect situation is very hard to create and probably no team has it. Sometimes you have to say that’s life and move up".
It has also been reported by the French media that the team staff members have not received the payments but Voigt had no complains about the issue either.
The final RadioShack-Nissan Team for the Tour de France include Fabian Cancellara (Swi), Tony Gallopin (Fra) and Christopher Horner (USA).
Andreas Klöden (Ger), Maxime Monfort (Bel), Yaroslav Popovych (Ukr), Frank Schleck (Lux), Jens Voigt (Ger) and Haimar Zubeldia Agirre (Spa) will also accompany the Luxembourg based side at the race.
