Jenson Button: I want to fight for victory in all four races left in 2011 F1 season – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has said that he wants to fight for victory in all the four races left in the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Button added that although his championship fight is over after the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix, he wants to fight for the race victories in the rest of the ongoing season for his best possible ending in the title battle.
The Brit also mentioned that if they win the last four races of the season, it will be a big boost for the team for a strong start to the 2012 Formula 1 championship battle.
Button commented, “Definitely, and that is why I moved to this team. I know you guys (the media) will say McLaren have only won a few World Championships in the last 20 years, but they've been fighting for them and gone close so many times.”
Apart from that, the Woking-based outfit driver discussed the team’s previous performances and stated that winning five races in the last couple of years was not enough for McLaren, but it was pretty good for them.
He went on to mention, “We have just got to hope we can get it all together. As a team - me, Lewis and the mechanics - we have really developed. So for me it's all moving in the right direction. When we're back at the factory we can think about next year.”
The 31-year-old driver further added that Red Bull Racing have done a great job in the last couple of years, so they need to do the same thing in the next Formula 1 seasons for their positive future in the sport.
Button did a fantastic race in recently held Japanese Grand Prix. He managed his race victory for the third time in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far at the Suzuka racetrack.
After winning the Japanese Grand Prix, Button is at the second position with 210 points in the drivers’ championship.
Let’s see how the team McLaren manage the 2011 Korean Grand Prix, which will start from Friday, October 14 at the Korea International Circuit.
