Jenson Button: It’s not over, until it’s over
The McLaren driver, Jenson Button strongly believes that the race is not over unless it is over, and he thinks it is yet not over for him. Despite being 42 points adrift the apex of the driver’s championship he still believes that
he can defend his title.
Currently, the British driver stands at fifth place in the Drivers’ Championship and has a total of 189 points under his belt. The poor round embraced by him last Sunday at the newly built Korean International Circuit left the
driver pointless at 12th place. On the other hand, his teammate Lewis Hamilton was able to secure 2nd place thus further protecting his title chances. Moreover, the victory of the day was bagged by the Ferrari driver, Fernando Alonso
as both the Red Bull drivers, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel retired from the race pointless.
In such a situation, the chances of Hamilton have once again grown pretty bright while Button’s victory seems almost impossible now.  As the teams returned from the third-last arena of the calendar, many believed that McLaren would
now ask the champion of last season, Button, to help his teammate for his second world Championship. However, the team Principal Martin Whitmarsh insisted that he would not force Button for any favours rather the driver is free to decide for his last two races.
Now, after three days of the last round the 30 year old proclaimed that he is reluctant to give up. He exclaims that mathematically he still stands in the tug for the title. With two more races yet to go and 50 points to play for,
the young lad believes that the title chase has though become tough for him yet it is not impossible.

for, the young lad believes that the title chase has though become tough for him but not impossible.
Talking to the reporters this Wednesday the Briton said, "I've always said that I will fight until it's mathematically impossible. Sure, looking at it written down on paper, you've got to admit it's a long-shot, but I'd regret
it for the rest of my life if I chose not to go for it, and then circumstances transpired to give me a full run at the title.”
He said that as long as the stats can prove it on paper, it is possible for him to fight for it. He further explained saying that the situation would be the same for him even if he gives up so it is better that he fights and loses,
therefore he prefers battling it out till the end. Moreover, he explained that Formula One is a strange sport where anything is possible anytime. Especially the ongoing season has seen so many uncertainties and it has unfolded in such a surprising manner that
one has to believe Button.
The driver further convinced saying, “It's totally possible that I could win at Interlagos, take home maximum points and have none of the other title contenders’ finish. If it's another wet race that could easily happen. Basically,
you learn early on in this sport that it's not over until it's over."
It is a known fact to all that the McLaren have not been one of the fastest on the track in the past few races.  Yet, the team is confident that it can compete with their top rivals, Red Bull and Ferrari, provided the circumstances
favour them. The round in Japan was the poorest one for the team as they met a series of mishaps all through the weekend. However, Button considers their performance to be as good as that of the Red Bull in Monza as well as in Singapore.
While concluding, Button revealed that McLaren has now planned to undergo another set of upgrades for their car before the Brazilian grand Prix. He was very confident as he said that he will be seen very strong in the last two
races in Brazil and then Abu Dhabi.
